I find it kind of boring.
Especially the skilling process.
You just select the skill to learn/improve and than you have to wait. You don't need to be online, you just have to wait and pay your monthly fee. |

Depends highly on what you want. The most obvious difference between Eve and other MMO's is that you play a spaceship, not a human being. This makes thing a lot more abstract, it is hard to feel any kind of attachment to your character.
Combat early on is very very simple, just picture a rather poor space shooter and you got it. Fighting NPC's is extremely boring, mining even more so and as in any MMO you will doing a lot of it before you can get to the meat of the game PvP.
PvP itself is not all that intresting, what Eve delivers is its economy. In no other MMO can you so effectively run a business within the game economy. If you want fighting, look elsewhere but if buy low sell high gets your juices flowing, then Eve might be the game for you.
Don't think it is just spreadsheet, the economic wars in Eve are everything as brutal as any regular PvP but if you don't like handling your finances then Eve is probably not for you.
Another major difference is that you level up while offline, only having to come online to switch what you want to learn. This means you don't have to play 24/7 to level up but also means you can power grind.
Offcourse you still need cash, so you still need to play a lot.
Eve has a dedicated fanbase, but it just doesn't appeal to that many people. Play the free trial, but be prepared for a game with a near vertical learning curve.
It is good enough to have been around for a long time, but wether it is to your tastes... it wasn't to mine. |

| It was kind of fun for me but once I got to the part where you had to learn some skills, whoa... It wouldn't be so bad but one of my early skills I wanted to learn took 5 days to learn, and I mean 5 days, uh, real time, holy cow. It does lvl up while you aren't playing but who in their right mind wants to wait 5 days to learn one skill? And, as far as I can remember, you can only learn one skill at a time but I am not for sure about that, keep in mind, it did have me wrapped up for a bit until that point. Also, it has a free two week trial. Hope that helps. |

5 day is nothing compared those takes 30day or more.
PVP is tricky thing in EVE. There is two outcome if you lose.
1. Enemy will destroy your ship and you have to buy new one. And better ones are not cheap!!
2. After you are almost destroyed attacker ask ransom or he/she will destroy your ship.
When ship is destroyed you are in capsule and can run away. But it can also be destroyed. You will be transported your base where your clone is. All Implants are destroyed. So not very nice.
This form PVP is thougher than WoW where only thing that happens you is some gear damage and corpse run/resurrection sickness.
Its harsh world :( I know, both have happened to me :) |

| From my experience, the only way to get ahead in Eve is to be mean. It's fun when you don't get podded frequently and when you're not mining roids for hours. |

It depends on what are you looking for in a mmorpg. If you look for an easy game do not play this. That isn't an easy game and that is the reason because many people don't like it or found it boring.
Personally i think that Eve is the only mmorpg that worth the monthly fee.
It's different from many other mmorpg for:
ECONOMY:
The Economy is mainly ruled by players. Almost every decent/big alliance produce everything that they need without needing to buy it from the market.
DIFFERENCE IN THE EULA:
The Eve universe is harsh. Scammers and thieves are allowed from the EULA so you have to make attention to everyone.
SKILL:
The skill training is very very long. To max the lvl of a base skill (rank 1) you need 4-5 days. To max the lvl of a advanced skill (for example a rank 6 skill) you need 1 months. More advanced skill can take also 2 months of training. But you don't need to be online to train and that is better for a casual player.
PVP:
If you want you can have an active role in pvp in less than 2 weeks. The rule my char is bigger (more skilled) than your don't make your char unuseful in eve... In Eve fleet warfare every ship is needed from the smallest to the biggest.
Oh, yes and if someone destroy your ship you lose the ship and everything that you have on it (half of the items are destroyed and the other half can be looted from everyone) and you found yourself in a pod... and if also your pod get destroye you lose also the implants on your char that can be more expensive than the ship.
Big war in Eve are very common especially in the player claimed space.
MASS:
This game bring the Massively word of MMORPG to a new level. The game is a unique server with 15k-35k people connected all the day and bigger corp (guild) and alliance than every other game. A corp can reach 600-700 players and an alliance also 6000 players.
Probably also one of the most complicated mmorpg also after a year that someone play it there are many thing that he still don't know.
The game also have a pretty big fanbase and there are many videos about it but they are not the right thing to start with... They are quite boring if you don't know the game or you don't like it.
The best thing to do is to play the 14 days trial. When you start the game you are in a npc corp is better if you join a pc corp as soon as possible and also if you get a bit of experience in the not safe area (you can call free pvp area).
One last thing, the learning curve goes up quite fast... comic example
You you found horrible my english... Yes you are right my english suck. |

Playing Eve solo is VERY boring, you will run out of the initial "fun" factor pretty quick. You need to hook up with a corp or bring friends with you and play as a group.
It is a harsh world to operate in but there is plenty of relatively safe empire controlled space where you can happily live and never fire a PVP shot in your life.
And honestly I'd probably say that eve is more geared towards adults anyway. Kids are going to lack the attention span to really get into the meat and potatoes of the game because they will become bored pretty fast.
Not having to grind 24x7 on crap exp mobs is a HUGE plus for me since i actually have to work and support a family. |

| Eve onlins is good. You have to be quite patient when playing as it takes time to get anywhere in it. But overall it is an interesting game. The fact you learn skills when not online is quite good and being a space pirate is quite good fun ;) |

| it's a great game - highly addictive. They do a 14 day free trial. You are probably better to do the tutorials to get you accustomed to it all, and it's more fun to join up with a player corp. |
