| Well if you are gonna wait to get Guild War 2, I recommend you to get Eye of the North because, you get to keep some item from eye of the north and use it in Guild War 2. |

| Well, GuildWars 2 is going to be awhile, so if you can put aside a certain amount, say 40-50 USD, you should be all set. In the meantime, I do suggest getting Eye of the North because as aznreaper said, you do get to keep some items from Eye of the North expansion and take it over to GuildWars 2. |

I would go ahead and get nightfall/eyes of the north for a few reasons.
1. The GW1 series is most likely going to be different then GW2 will be from what i've read about it.
2. If you have Eyes of the North, you can add to something called the hall of monuments, which will unlock stuff in GW2 when it comes out.
3. As a few others have said, it could be awhile before we see GW2 especialy with the serious lack of information about how far along they are in development. Getting the rest of the campaigns for GW1 will help hold you over for awhile. |

| I tend to not pay for MMOs, but from hearsay i'd say go for it, since a lot of people seem to say a lot of good things about it, and majority can't be wrong all the time, in my opinion you should try the similar free games first to see if you like them, if you just don't enjoy that type of system or gameplay, than you're better of spending your money elsewhere. |

| guild wars is awesome, the top lvl is 20, but its still pretty challanginge to get it, there are really nice ppl to have fun with and will help u out with anything. i play myself lvl 20, i prefer this game to any person that loves mmorpgs, and besides, free online play! |

I own 2 campaigns of GuildWars - Factions and Nightfall. I have to say it's one of the most beautifull games I've ever played, beginning with the graphics and the user interface, and ending with the game system.
Since GW2 could take a wile befor launch on the market, my suggestion is to go ahead and buy Nightfall EoN (keep in mind that in order to play EoN you must have a previous campaign of GW). |

if u buy Eye of the North, i recommend that u buy it with Prophecies and not Nightfall because Prophecies gives u acces to 6 classes ( the most used cclasses ) while Nightfall only gives you 2 classes.
I would however recommend that you dont buy guildwars 1 just to get the bonuses for guildwars 2 because first of all, getting those bonuses involves dont pretty lame stuff for a huge amount of time, while at the same time u dont know that the bonuses u will get, will be any good. please note that guildwars has a tendancy of making theyre usual bonuses be pretty lame and insignificant.... |

Ok m8 seriously some of the answers are so much crap.
First of all Eye of the north is an expansion u need to get a core game with it, i would suggest probably factions then u can do some AB (type of battles).
Then however i've been playing this game for a long time now and to be honest i would suggest u be better off with Warhammer online since its a new type of MMO RvR and Not PvP or PvE however those elements also included.
Guild Wars 2 is due to come out in 2009 the beta testing is going to start at second half of 2008 so around september i guess. It is clearly stated that NO items or Gold or characters will be allowed in Guild Wars 2 because it will be first new engine and second totally different game it will have different cap level more then 20 and also new abilities such as jump and swim the PvP side will also change to open PvP however organised PvP such as HA and GvG will remain but in different mods.
So final conclusion get GW2 and not the old GW1 mean while play Warhammer online. |
