| While there are computers that could easily handle running a server for a game (Look at World of Warcraft), the server software is secure with NCSoft, and no server emulators have been developed. As such, there are no free servers. |

| There was a free server, but it was shut down by NCsoft. They really try vehemently to not allow the free servers, unlike WoW who just don't really care anymore. |

| Using a free (or private) server is VERY illegal and could easily result in you getting in major trouble. It is also hard to set up a free server for CoX for some reason that I am not aware of. All in all, it's easier just to pay the a month or just not play it at all. |

| CoH/CoV players are still very active but,CoH/CoV still update the game regularly with new things to keep players interested. These updates are always free as a way to keep people from leaveing. |
