This game is RvR but what if a majority of the player base goes to one race over the other won't that leave one main city up for attack over another?

Well, im sure if it was reaally unbalanced, they would attempt to fix it, but if they balanced the races well enough, then the different races will appeal to different people, and the races will stay somewhat balanced.

They said, that a hard cap of 10,000 players will be set on each server. This is to balance RvR, where they will alow 5,000 of each faction to be logged in at any one time.

Also the classes on both sides are both interesting enough, that both sides will have about the same amount of people, because there isn't just one "cool" class or race.

Both sides have an elf race, both sides have a human race, and both sides have their respective "ugly" race as well.

I don't recall ever seeing them setting a hard cap, however I could have overlooked it. I'm sure however it will take the same path that DAoC did, Mythic's previous game, and simply put that unbalance there while not worrying about it, as that is part of the game when one side has 3x the players. The largest difference however is that the side with less players typically has much more efficient smaller groups and is typically more organized.

Having a cap of 5,000 of each faction in at any time also wouldn't make any sense, I mean consider if 4,000 of those players are attacking a certain place on Chaos while Empire is at their cap but doesn't have near 4,000 players around the level to defend, then what? You simply create even more unbalance.

As for what it likely will be, you will be told to deal with it essentially, perhaps they will do like in DAoC where the faction with less players in it got bonuses, such as exp rate increases, etc.
